The 100-500 with 2x TC at mfd gives 0.8x magnification, which is not far off from macro, and at that distance you might not disturb insects that otherwise are a bit wary.Excellent close-up. Well done, Alan.

These insects are fascinating, and it's the close-ups that get us into seeing them properly. Thanks for posting.Time for a few insects different from butterflies/moths and I'm almost done with the photos from my trip. I will ask my daughter for some of her photos with the macro lens and if/when she collaborate I may post some of them too...
