I was playing with words since you wrote of dynamic "rage".Why would they be over? It's a very important metric of a camera performance.

I´d take a cheaper, love-less, manufacture lined R5 instead pleaseBecause the German versions are handcrafted with love by highly skilled Zen monks, using best possible quality components.

Even with cash back promotions the price is still significantly higher for most Canon R products. If you compare German prices to refurbished gear prices (or even deals) one just wants to start cryingPS: European customers could still wait for Canon's Winter Promotion or for Black Friday deals (I know, this is really utopian, but who knows?)
I've decided to buy my next lenses, maybe even cameras, from Panamoz.I´d take a cheaper, love-less, manufacture lined R5 instead please

I’m very happy how painless and quick buying an R7 was from panamoz earlier this year.I've decided to buy my next lenses, maybe even cameras, from Panamoz.
They have not only very good prices (for most, not all items), but also a solid 3 year warranty and reputation. Fully taxed as well. (No customs cheating!).
The only drawback is that products don't enjoy Canon's official warranty. Which, in more than 10 years, I've never needed.
And their prices are less interesting for newly introduced products.
The DR is probably still better than my 5d2 and I am still happy with the photos taken with it, but I feel real disappointment about poor auto-focus. I don't have any experience with shooting indoor sporting through. Can't use it indoors if there are modern lights... Autofocus is horribly unreliable.
I know two AP pros at Euro and both gave the a9iii back and rolled with the a1. One of them said it was the worst stills camera he has ever used....
The only real photographers that use them is if they got them for free or are contractually obligated to do so. They're probably rolling with a1s anyway.
It's a YouTuber camera... Global shutter was just Sony R&D unable to solve problems. I can't believe anyone paid $6500 for that thing.
I don't know about the video side... not my wheelhouse.
Your thoughts very much mirror my own. I also prefer the ergonomics and comfort of an integrated grip camera (even though it weighs a bit more).I really like the R3. Personally, for everyday use I have a strong preference for an integrated grip, so that is the main advantage for me. I use silent mode a lot, and like being able to have a modest frame rate when doing so, the R5 can’t do a slower burst.
The main deficits of the R3 for my use are really deficits for most MILCs – an inability to handle extreme defocus and the inability to focus on horizontal features. That means sometimes the R3 just fails to pick focus and needs my help (manually focusing closer or turning the camera 45°). Canon has had patents publish that could address both of those issues, I’m hoping those are implemented in the R1.
So you know exactly what people mean when they complain about the buffering behaviour on Canon bodies!Your thoughts very much mirror my own. I also prefer the ergonomics and comfort of an integrated grip camera (even though it weighs a bit more).
The only other deficit I might add for the R3 is the limited buffer at 30 fps when shooting RAW. On a few occasions (e.g. bears chasing salmon) I have managed to hit the buffer. The other two deficits you mention are more noticeable (i.e., occur more frequently).
The paint chips around the mount on EF lenses were always ugly. Unfortunately inevitable.I find my RF lenses are more prone to getting dirty and outer scratches than my EF ones so I was saving the money for those as well.
And?.. I know that. Some have come to new insights, a couple of posts on the Z6-III:
If you want more: check the A9 III reviews.
- DPR: https://www.dpreview.com/news/84127...gests-nikon-z6-iii-pays-a-price-for-its-speed
- PetaPixel: “As an aside, the Z6 III’s dynamic range catches up to the Z6 II’s by ISO 800, so the gap in dynamic range only concerns image quality at the base and very low ISO settings” https://petapixel.com/2024/07/05/the-nikon-z6-iiis-worse-dynamic-range-mostly-doesnt-matter/
Thanks my brother and I definitely hear that. I think for me the cost of an upgraded lens is pretty daunting . 13k for the rf 600. I just don’t know if I can ever afford thatIt's a hard call, is there anything the R5 doesn't do for you? If I solely shot birds, I'd probably put that money into a lens upgrade... That too depends on what sorts of species you like shooting, along with how and where.
No more extreme than some of the other comments in this thread about it.![]()
Australia seems to be about 10% cheaper than the US for the big whites at the moment...Thanks my brother and I definitely hear that. I think for me the cost of an upgraded lens is pretty daunting . 13k for the rf 600. I just don’t know if I can ever afford that

So Canon is Lexus or Sony is Lexus?Does a Lexus have to compete with a Lada?![]()
What's generational difference be like? Can you elaborate? The R1 needs to bring more than what is speculated to compete against the A9III. I sold my R3 after purchasing the Sony. It feels like there is a generational difference between the R3 and the A9III. So far the leak relating to the R1 sound like an incremental update.
I pre-booked (paid nothing) an RF 14-35 at Dinkel in Munich a day before the lens was officially announced. Got it in a day after the arrival of the first batch to the shop.Unfortunately French or German stores do not accept preorders.![]()
My guess would be that it will be only available with canon cooling grip.Would be odd not to have 8K50/60 - my R5C has had it for years.
Why all the new cooling features then?
Just follow the original poster's order...So Canon is Lexus or Sony is Lexus?![]()
I agree with you, I also need a money-multiplier.I need a time accelerator.
9 full days till July 17th...![]()
