Dragonflies and Damselflies

Yellow-sided Skimmer (Libellula flavida)
Great Blue Skimmer (Libellula vibrans)
Twelve-spotted Skimmer (Libellula pulchella)
My best guess. I am not even a novice at identifying them. These are pics taken in Maine USA near lakes or bogs

I wish I could figure out how to get 2nd curtain sync working on the ring light, the button combo only toggles HSS and the flash is too old to allow the body to configure it.

I wonder from what distance did you shot ##3 and 4? These are really something (particularly #3!)...
## 1 and 3 are my favorites! Very nice photos!

I finally managed to find more than one dragonfly and get a decent picture of them. I don't know what I did different this time, but there are a lot more details in the pictures. Both settled in the grass, which eliminated almost all wind movements.

And this was a mating wheel as well, albeit a clumsy one that landed upside down:
Which gave me the opportunity to take a close-up of its mouth:
R8 + RF100L, going from a meter of working distance with the R7+100-500L to 10cm is still a bit jarring

0.0508 metersI was using my RP with Lawao 85mm macro. I was probably 2" away. Not sure how many meters that is though.
