I had bad experience with the RF 100-400 wide opened, which looks a little softer in bright light.
I have not seen the same with the L-lens but to be sure I prefer f/8. Maybe not really logical.

Very nice again. Checked out both my copies of RF 100-400mm on the R7, and both marginally better at f/8 than f/11. I had checked them a year ago on the R5 with the same result.

And the Dragons from today. First the Roseate Skimmer (Orthemis ferruginea). I was just watching it landing on the same stick where I took photos of the Black Saddlebags last weekend (didn't appear today!) when it came with a pray. Started shooting, most of the images just to figure out what is the pray (I didn't - kind of tiny Coleoptera 
). After that ovisporing Anax junius (Green darner). All with 200-500 as the last few weekends...

Excellent shot!
That's a downy emerald (cordulia aenea, dt.: Falkenlibelle bzw. Gemeine Smaragdlibelle).
A quite similar species is the brilliant emerald (somatochlora metallica, dt.: Glänzende Smaragdlibelle).
You have to look at the abdomen to differentiate the two species.

I accidentally startled a damselfly that had just emerged and it kept landing on objects close by to complete drying its body and wings:
It finally landed on something that wasn't me:
