Canon EOS R5 Mark II deliveries have already started

I ordered my R5MII from B&H and my husband ordered his from a local camera store that we have had luck in getting scarce equipment from but being in CA means a high tax penalty on buying in state. Because we will be traveling soon and my husband does video he is more interested in getting his sooner than I am since this trip will have limited wildlife opportunity and my R5 will be more than fine. He called the store today and was told that the cameras were "not in yet" but he was first on the list and that they would put aside several batteries for him too. I still have no idea where I am on B&H's list--we were in Tanzania the day of the announcement and had terrible internet reception but ordered at the time of the announcement. I've received the same email as everyone confirming my order but not giving me a shipping date.

Hi Catherine, I’d chose being in Tanzania with bad internet connection over being in CA with fast connection any day! Hope you had a great time there.

I am curious as to how long it takes that thing to fill the buffer using the electronic shutter. Have you had a chance to try that out yet?
not really goin test mine out till its officially after AUG 20th and possibly during NYFW here in nyc/nj area
also when they are going too add American football too action priority so I can use it for HS football games before daylight savings ends

I am so glad to hear that, I never use the ES in my R5 because it made no noise. There were times I wondered if it was actually shooting while messing around with it.
As I have written to you before, you youngsters haven’t the flexibility of us oldies - the absence of shutter noise in ES has never worried me and is an advantage in some circumstances. Oh well, we are all different.

Glad to hear, I´m not alone. In my country, we pay 20% taxes. "Normal" ordering in my local store postponed the delivery back to autumn, as these bodies are scarce goods. So I cancelled there and ordered online (my Costa Rica trip in September is comin nearer and nearer) - but paying an preferential premium to get it in the next weeks. Then the next shock arrived: the new batteries are not available too. So another big plus in costs is necessary to get two ore three for the trip....

I use silent mode frequently on my R3. The flashing white border in the EVF is certainly sufficient to let me know I’m capturing images.

I have just spoken to Wex Customer Services (in the UK) and they still haven't heard anything from Canon about when they can expect to start receiving stock.... I hope they do soon.... :(
As a current R5 owner who pre-ordered from WEX within 5 minutes of the link opening, I am not really bothered as the trusty old gear still does all I ask of it really well. @docsmith has posted a poll to R5 users about who is upgrading https://www.canonrumors.com/forum/threads/upgrading-from-an-r5-mk-1-to.43841/#post-1005845

That’s good news! I was afraid that it would ship earlier and I would miss the email due to working at a music festival over the weekend.
Assuming that pre-ordering at 12:01 was early enough…
… and I’m having a coffee break here at the Lowlands festival when the “please pay for
your R5II” email arrived from cameranu.nl, with a free lp-e6P!
