I really want that RF 70-150 f/2 ISI hate the 28-70 f/2 until I dump the photos.
That is a lens I would preorder. So far, none of the other recent rumors have interested me though I'm sure they'll be popular releases (especially the 50/1.4, and where is ahsanford when his desire for a 50/1.4 with IS seems ready to be thwarted once again).I really want that RF 70-150 f/2 IS
The big question for me is: will the pre-order price for the 50VCM be lower than the grey market price for the f/1.2? The grey market price is more than €700 lower than the local price here in the Netherlands.

Agreed. I think the trio of f1.4 VCM lenses (24, 35, and 50 mm) will all be around $1500.50mm f/1.8: $200
50mm f/1.2: $2100
Let's face it, Canon's 'midrange' 50mm f/1.4 is going to cost $1500, just like their 35mm.
If I remember well, ahsanford wanted OIS in a time when bodies were not yet offering IBIS. So, he'd have no reason to complain, most cameras are now stabilized. That is a lens I would preorder. Ha. Scroll up a few posts...If I remember well, ahsanford wanted OIS in a time when bodies were not yet offering IBIS. So, he'd have no reason to complain, most cameras are now stabilized.
I just hope they'll have IS as hybrid lenses should have...
The 28-70 STM shows how a good IS is useful even if the body has IBIS...
Even better would be RF 70-200mm f/2 (but would be similar weight, size and price to RF 100-300mm f/2.8)I really want that RF 70-150 f/2 IS
So is mine, until on or about November 26 (the stated availability date of the R1).Looks like my wallet is safe for a little while longer.
I love my 70-200 2.8 because of the compactness as well.Almost certainly. My understanding is that it will be a more "traditional" 70-200mm design meaning it won't have the same limitations as the controversial compact 70-200mm. For me, the compact RF 70-200mm is the first 70-200mm that I've actually used significantly primarily due to its compact design.
I can already hear the wailing. The 50mm won't be small enough compared to the competition. Or it won't be big enough. If the 70-200 lens aimed at video can't take a TC, the cries will be heard at the corners of the Earth. Its a fixed zoom that isnt as compact as the collapsing design - this display of Canon's continued wanton malice towards its consumers, and continued compliance with the laws of physics will force many to Sony or Nikon.

perfect world would be one version without the built in 1.4 so it is a little more affordable for those that do not want the 1.4, like ever!I am looking forward to the 50 mm f1.4 as well, but undecided on the 70-200 mm f2.8. Still hoping that Canon announces the 200-500 mm f4 later in November when the R1 ships.
