Still expecting another RV camera then or is this it?Post updated with the EOS R50 V Product Pictures.
I think this solved some confusion with the "R50 V" and "RV". The R50 V is branded "RV" on the front.

The field of view would be wildly (well, 1.6x) different, so talking about equivalent apertures is mostly theoretical at that point.[...] If you were using the EF 28/1.8 on an APS-C DSLR, the combo of the R8 with the RF 28/2.8 would still be shorter, and it would be just as bright since f/1.8 on a crop sensor is equivalent to f/2.9 on a full frame sensor like that in the R8.

It even has 3 custom modes! Only for video though, I bet the outrage resulting from that can power like 5 AI queriesPost updated with the EOS R50 V Product Pictures.

The RF 50/1.8 is the simple, inexpensive answer to that. The EF 28/1.8 wasn't a very good lens at launch in 1995, and it suffers even more by comparison to modern lenses. If you want similar IQ from the RF 50/1.8 you can smear some vaseline on the front element. The field of view would be wildly (well, 1.6x) different, so talking about equivalent apertures is mostly theoretical at that point.
The EF28/1.8 is one of those lenses that benefit a lot from DLO in DPP4. I don't use mine anymore since it's the only lens where the focus ring started 'sweating', it a sticky mess nowThe RF 50/1.8 is the simple, inexpensive answer to that. This FL, and a bit bigger to accommodate constant F4 aperture at least.RF 24-50: small but for that f compromise no good FL
Was using EF28/1.8 on Full Frame. FL24 seems to wide for my composition that I need to crop often, at FL35, I wish it was a tad wider. and at F2.8 not giving the separation look I want for Environment Portrait shots. If you were using the EF 28/1.8 on a FF DSLR, the combo of the R8 with the RF 24/1.8 or 35/1.8 would be shorter overall, and deliver better image quality.

It's supposed to be a $300 lens. Highly unlikely it's constant aperture, and certainly not F/2.8. If it starts at 3.x it'll actually be a pleasant surprise, I think.Looking forward for the aperture of the coming RF-S 15-30. Hope its constant F2.8.. This will be like RF24-50 at F4 for me.

Flash is full of contacts, look at the image from behind, looks like the M6 II shoe, optical viewfinder should work, maybe the same one M6 owners already have.No flash contacts
Well lets see, yes the images is for video, but I don't see why the software should not allow to store photo modes too. And let us customize that rec button and zoom dial.3 custom modes! Only for video though
Look harder. The R50 V, just like the R50, has only the new multifunction shoe contacts. There are no contacts for the old-style flashes/accessories. The EVF-DC2 (for the M6II) does not have the same contacts as the multifunction shoe and will not work on R-series bodies.Flash is full of contacts, look at the image from behind, looks like the M6 II shoe, optical viewfinder should work, maybe the same one M6 owners already have.
It is the RF mount. And why can't Sigma get the mount name right? It's RF-S not RF, even in their shop the mount selection menu states RF.
Ok I was only interested in EVF contacts. But yes interesting, how is this supposed to trigger my studio lights.Look harder.
